Craig Johnson is a dedicated academic in the School of Management at the University of Bradford, where he has been a full-time faculty member since 2002. With nearly two decades of combined experience in both public and private sectors prior to academia, his background includes software engineering for fire service training simulators, operations management for the national fire service computer system (FINDS), and consultancy work for Dublin Fire and Ambulance Service. His research focuses on organizational learning, action learning methodologies, and the learning organization concept. Johnson's work bridges theory and practice, with particular attention to how management theories develop as social movements. His PhD research examined social movement theory in relation to learning organizations through survey responses from FTSE- and AIM-Listed companies' executives. Johnson's publication record shows a consistent trajectory from foundational work on learning organizations to contemporary applications in areas like responsible AI and digital health. His recent work demonstrates increasing engagement with global challenges and uncertain environments, reflecting the evolving nature of organizational theory in the 21st century.
