Dominik Matt

Prof. Dominik Matt is a Full Professor holding the Chair for Production Systems and Technologies at the Faculty of Engineering of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. He leads the Industrial Engineering & Automation (IEA) research department and serves as Director of the Fraunhofer Italia Research Center in Bolzano. His work bridges academia and industry through cutting-edge research in Industry 4.0/5.0, AI-driven manufacturing systems, and sustainable production practices.

Prof. Matt's educational background includes a Dr.-Ing. (Engineering Doctorate), with extensive experience in interdisciplinary research spanning manufacturing, automation, and digital transformation. His research emphasizes smart factory development, resilience engineering, and human-centric manufacturing solutions.
