Dr. Emily Wing Rohrbach serves as Associate Professor in English Literature 1660-1832 within the Department of English Studies at Durham University. She holds a PhD from Boston University and has previously held academic positions at Northwestern University, Hamilton College, and the University of Manchester. At Durham, she serves as Director of the MA Programme and has previously held administrative roles including Coordinator for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion and Deputy Director of Research. Her scholarship explores how Romantic-era literature engages with questions of political possibility through textual form and material book production. She approaches Romantic literature through interdisciplinary lenses that connect literary studies with book history, political theory, and aesthetic philosophy. Her publication record demonstrates significant scholarly contribution to Romantic studies, particularly through two major monographs that examine temporal dimensions of Romantic writing and the political implications of book materiality. Her articles address diverse aspects of Romantic literature including Keats's poetry, Austen's novels, and broader questions of historical consciousness in the period. Dr. Rohrbach's work shows consistent engagement with theoretical frameworks while maintaining close attention to textual detail and historical context.
