His academic foundation includes a PhD in English Literature from the University of Warwick, an MA from the University of York, a BA from Staffordshire University, and a PGCAPP from Warwick.
Wallbank's research critically examines assessment frameworks, inclusive pedagogies, neurodiversity in academic settings, writing-based learning approaches, and the philosophical implications of neoliberalism and artificial intelligence in higher education. His work emphasizes creating accessible learning environments through evidence-based strategies.
Analysis of his 15 most recent publications reveals a strong interdisciplinary focus bridging educational theory, disability studies, and literary scholarship. Early research centered on Romantic literature and literary critique, while contemporary work prioritizes neurodiversity, AI's impact on pedagogy, inclusive assessment design, and academic writing support. This evolution reflects a shift from literary analysis to transformative educational practice.
