Assistant Professor
Lora Phillips is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Western Ontario, Canada. She holds a PhD in Sociology from The Ohio State University and previously served as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Arizona State University. Her research focuses on inequality, material precarity, and their impacts on health and well-being, with particular attention to housing loss, unemployment, and disaster resilience. Phillips employs mixed-methods and community-engaged approaches, emphasizing actionable insights for social equity. Education: PhD in Sociology, The Ohio State University (2019); MA in Sociology (2013); BA in Sociology and Psychology (2012), Kent State University.
