Darren Canady is a Professor and Acting Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of English at the University of Kansas. His work bridges African-American oral traditions with contemporary theatre, focusing on family narratives, social change, and multicultural experiences in the American Midwest. Canady holds affiliate roles with the Gunn Center for the Study of Science Fiction and contributes to university initiatives like the Celebration of Writing.
