Dr. Emanuela Sciubba is a Reader in Economics at Birkbeck Business School, part of Birkbeck, University of London. Her research focuses on economic theory, finance, and behavioral economics, with a particular emphasis on social networks, trust dynamics, and experimental economics. She has supervised five doctoral researchers, including current supervisees Cornel Todirica and Marcel Lee, and has mentored alumni such as René Levesley and Angelo Diamantopoulos. Her teaching modules include Corporate Finance, Microeconomics, and Behavioral Economics and Finance. Dr. Sciubba’s work explores topics like trust and cooperation in social networks, decision-making under ambiguity, and the structural similarities in game-theoretic models. Her research has been published in journals such as the International Journal of Financial Studies, Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, and Economic Theory. Her recent studies investigate anonymity in financial markets, relational aspects of trust, and public good provision in endogenous networks. She employs experimental methods to analyze how social structures influence economic behavior, contributing to our understanding of cooperation, risk-sharing, and network formation.
