Whitney Gegg-Harrison is an Associate Professor in the Writing, Speaking, and Argument Program at the University of Rochester. Her work bridges cognitive science, linguistics, and writing pedagogy, emphasizing how language reflects and shapes thought. She holds a PhD in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the University of Rochester (2014), with earlier degrees from The Ohio State University (BS in Linguistics/Computer Science and MS in Computational Linguistics). Her teaching spans foundational first-year writing courses exploring language and cognition to advanced seminars on AI and writing. Notable courses include Language as a Window into the Mind (since 2010) and Writing about and with Artificial Intelligence (launched 2023).
