Research Fellow
Dr. Kristiana Ludlow is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Services Research within the Faculty of Health, Medicine, and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Queensland. She also holds an Honorary Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University. Her academic journey includes a Bachelor of Psychology with first class Honours (2015), Master of Research in Medicine and Health Sciences (2017), and PhD in Health Innovation (2020). Dr. Ludlow's research focuses on improving healthcare delivery through user-centered approaches. Her primary interests include co-designing interventions and digital health tools with end-users, frailty assessment and management, aged care systems, person-centered care models, the role of family caregivers, missed care/unfinished care phenomena, and care prioritization frameworks. She is particularly passionate about collaborating with consumers, service users, and health professionals to develop practical solutions that enhance healthcare delivery and mental health services. Her recent publication portfolio reveals a strong emphasis on digital health interventions, particularly in the areas of frailty education and management. She has led multiple co-design projects developing digital tools for both healthcare professionals and consumers. Her work consistently applies qualitative methodologies and Q methodology to understand complex healthcare challenges, with a growing focus on interdisciplinary approaches that bridge geriatrics, mental health, and digital health. Dr. Ludlow is actively involved in several significant research projects funded by NHMRC and MRFF, including initiatives to improve frailty knowledge through co-designed digital hubs, develop automatic electronic frailty indexes for primary care, and create rainbow-inclusive care models for gender and sexually diverse people in residential aged care. As a supervisor, Dr. Ludlow is available for PhD candidates interested in co-designing digital frailty education with health consumers and caregivers. Her supervision portfolio includes projects on comprehensive health assessment for younger people with schizophrenia, process evaluation of electronic frailty indices, and co-designing online learning modules to increase frailty knowledge among health professionals.
