Francesco Citti is a Full Professor of Latin at the University of Bologna, Italy, with a focus on classical philology and Italian studies. He earned his Classics degree (110/110 cum laude) from the University of Bologna in 1988 and a PhD in Greek and Latin Philology from the University of Bari in 1993. Since 1995, he has taught Latin literature and culture at Bologna, including at the Ravenna campus. Current roles: Dean of the Bologna University Library (2021–2023), Director of the Greek and Latin Summer School (2007–present). Research spans three areas: Latin philosophical literature (Lucretius, Horace, Seneca), classical reception in modern/contemporary contexts, and intersections between ancient scientific traditions and modern science. Key projects include editing Giovanni Pascoli's 'Traduzioni e Riduzioni' and leading the Department's Excellence Grant (2017–2022). His publications and conferences bridge classical texts with modern scientific and cultural discourses. He is involved in editorial boards for journals like Griseldaonline and Papers on Rhetoric , and holds memberships in Academia Europaea and the Accademia Pascoliana.
