Ömer Delikaya is a Lecturer at the Department of Eastern Languages and Literatures in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Bingöl University. His primary research focuses on Kurdish oral traditions, specifically dengbêj (bards) performance culture, comparative mythology, and sociolinguistics of Kurdish folklore. He has published extensively on topics including spatial narratives in Kurdish poetry, interethnic narrative adaptations, and terminological distinctions among Kurdish performers like poets, bards, and musicians. His recent work explores cultural memory through dengbêj performances and topographical semiotics in Kurdish literary works. Delikaya's research methodology combines ethnographic fieldwork with philological analysis of oral and written sources. His studies often bridge Kurdish-Turkish cultural intersections, particularly regarding shared folklore traditions. He has presented over 20 papers at international conferences including the Kurdish Studies Conference (Dicle University 2016), Şırnak Dengbêj Culture Symposium (2018), and multiple Siverek Symposia. His publications appear in journals like Muqaddimah and Anemon , with a notable monograph Destpêkek ji bo Peyvsaziya Kurmancî (2022) and contributions to edited volumes on Feqiyê Teyran and Siverek cultural history.
