Lawrence McCandless is Professor and Director of MSc & PhD Programs in Simon Fraser University's Faculty of Health Sciences, with joint appointment in Statistics. His research applies statistical methods to environmental epidemiology and health outcomes. Education includes: PhD in Statistics from University of British Columbia MSc in Statistics from University of British Columbia Postdoctoral research at Imperial College London Research focuses on: Bayesian methods for epidemiological studies Chemical mixture exposures during pregnancy Environmental influences on child development Statistical approaches for unmeasured confounding He teaches courses in intermediate epidemiology, exploratory data analysis, and biostatistics, mentoring graduate students in quantitative health research methods. Current projects investigate environmental impacts on pregnancy outcomes and neurodevelopment using advanced statistical modeling approaches.
