Senior Lecturer
Lynsay Crawford is a Senior Clinical Lecturer in General Practice & Primary Care at the University of Glasgow's School of Health and Wellbeing. She is currently a GP Partner in Bonnybridge, Forth Valley, after previously practicing in Possilpark (1998–2018). A Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners (2021), she holds a Master's in Medical Education from the University of Dundee (2022). Her roles include Director of Vocational Studies (since 2020), COMET Programme Lead, and member of the Fitness to Study Panel. She specializes in medical curriculum innovation, particularly through the COMET initiative which enhances General Practice exposure for students. Her research focuses on health inequalities, patient voice integration, and communication skills. She has contributed to national initiatives like GPs at the Deep End and Widening Participation programs such as Medic Insight. She investigates factors influencing career choices in general practice and the social determinants of health, particularly in deprived communities. Her recent focus includes enhancing communication skills training and quality improvement projects in primary care settings. Awards: 2021: Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners Teaching & Advising: Leads the COMET programme, supervises Masters students in Health Professions Education, and advises on curriculum development. Her work with the Fitness to Study Panel emphasizes student welfare support.
