Lecturer
Christian Engler is a Lecturer at the Center for Media, Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts since 2011. He holds a BA in Digital Music (Brighton University, 2003) and an MA in Sonic Arts (Middlesex University, 2004). Engler's career evolved from sound design to programming and interaction design, exploring patterns, dramaturgy, and spatial communication across disciplines. His research integrates mathematics and intuition across sound, image, and space, with focus areas including: Creative coding and interactive installations Digital media dramaturgy Spatial communication systems Cross-disciplinary design methodologies Engler's publications emphasize interactive exhibitions and design innovation, with recurring themes in sensory interfaces and experimental media. His project contributions have received prestigious awards: Cannes Lion, German Design Award (2016) ADC Gold, Red Dot Awards (2013-2016) He directs the Hamburg design studio wirmachenbunt and serves in university governance as a Senate representative. Engler actively develops interdisciplinary projects including the Future Ocean Explorer program at Muthesius.
