Caglar Kaya is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Finance within the Aalborg University Business School, part of Aalborg University's Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. His research focuses on corporate governance, banking, and corporate finance, particularly exploring foundation-owned enterprises and their credit risk dynamics compared to conventional ownership structures. He holds a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from Lund University and has industry experience in audit and banking. Education: Ph.D. in Economics (Financial Economics), Lund University (2020) M.Sc. Finance, Lund University & University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign M.Sc. International Management, University of Bologna M.Sc. International Finance (Banking & Accounting), Istanbul Bilgi University Research Interests: Caglar examines board governance in foundation-controlled firms, trade credit finance, internal capital markets in corporate groups, and venture capital dynamics. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical analysis of ownership structures and financial policy impacts. Current Projects: Leading a project on Green Finance (2024-2026) focusing on sustainable financial mechanisms. Collaborations: Active research collaborations include work with institutions like the University of Illinois and Lund University, with publications in journals such as Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money and North American Journal of Economics and Finance .
