Lecturer
Jakob Haglöf is a Lecturer and researcher at the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, Uppsala University, specializing in analytical pharmaceutical chemistry. His work includes teaching in pharmacy, engineering, and dispensing pharmacy programs, alongside developing analytical methods for metabolomics with a focus on data quality. He holds an MSc in Biotechnology from Chalmers University of Technology (2004) and a PhD in Pharmacy from Uppsala University (2010). Research interests span metabolomics, mass spectrometry, chromatography, and multivariate data analysis. His recent studies investigate factors affecting DNA integrity in genetic toxicology, metabolic responses in cancer (e.g., multiple myeloma, medulloblastoma), and environmental influences on deep-sea sponge metabolomes. Collaborative projects include analyzing radiation effects on head and neck cancers, ototoxicity from cisplatin, and hydrogen gas effects on cochlear metabolism. Key contributions include advancing LC-MS methodology, co-developing the co-feature ratio for metabolomics selectivity analysis, and optimizing drug metabolite identification via experimental design. Haglöf’s work bridges analytical chemistry with biomedical applications, emphasizing rigorous data quality in multidisciplinary studies.
