Zoe Schultz serves as a Research Fellow in the Department of Human Geography, Anthropology and Development Studies at Monash University, contributing to critical interdisciplinary research at the intersection of geography and social sciences.
Her research specializes in Emergency Management and Indigenous Studies, with particular focus on integrating First Nations knowledge systems into national disaster response frameworks. Current work examines culturally responsive approaches to enhance Australia's emergency management infrastructure through community-led insights and place-based methodologies.
She actively collaborates as Chief Investigator on research projects addressing real-world policy challenges in disaster resilience.
As Chief Investigator for the project For the provision of research on first nations insights into enhancing Australia's national emergency management system (May 23, 2025 - June 30, 2025), she works alongside Primary Chief Investigator N. Reidy, Chief Investigator B. Williamson, and Project Manager L. Connole to develop evidence-based emergency management strategies grounded in Indigenous perspectives.
