Zlatko Kramarić is a full professor at the Department of Cultural Studies of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek, where he has held a permanent position since the academic year 2010/2011. He teaches courses in literary and cultural theory. Prior to his current role, he served as mayor of Osijek (1990–2005), a member of the Croatian Parliament (1992–2008), and Ambassador of Croatia to Kosovo (2008–2011) and Macedonia (until 2011).
Education:
- Graduated top of his class from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb (1978)
- Master's degree in Macedonian Studies from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb (1982)
- Doctorate from the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad (1985)
Research Focus: His interdisciplinary work spans anthropology, narratology, postcolonial criticism, literary theory, gender studies, multiculturalism, and identity theories. He designed the project "Osijek as a Literary and Cultural Center of Central Europe," exploring intercultural communication and globalization's impact on universities.
