Ziyun Fan is an Associate Professor in Responsible Management at the University of York's School for Business and Society, joining in 2021 from Newcastle University where she held an Assistant Professorship. Her research focuses on sociological and historical perspectives of organizational practices, particularly secrecy/transparency dynamics, responsible leadership, and sustainable transition initiatives. She leads research on climate change innovation in food systems and serves on editorial boards for Human Relations, Organization, and Management Learning.
Academically, she co-convenes conferences on secrecy and transparency and holds executive roles in the Academy of Management's Management History division. She oversees the School's PhD programs in Management and Social Policy/Social Work as Deputy Director, and teaches postgraduate research methods modules.
