Zihan Ye is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Haslam College of Business, University of Tennessee. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Penn State University (2020), an M.Sc. in Financial Economics from the University of Oxford (2012), and a Bachelor's in Economics from Central University of Finance and Economics, China (2011).
Her research focuses on Municipal Finance, Healthcare Finance, and Innovation, with a particular emphasis on the intersection of public health crises and financial systems. Notable work examines the opioid crisis's impact on municipal bond markets, telehealth's financial implications for hospitals, and voter behavior's influence on municipal credit risk. Her findings have been published in top journals like the Review of Financial Studies and Management Science.
Ye has received grants including the Troesh Center Research Grant (2022) and was a semifinalist for the FMA Corporate Finance Best Paper (2021).
