Ziad El-Awad is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at Lund University's Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship. His research focuses on organizational studies, new venture teams, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and circular entrepreneurship, employing advanced qualitative methods to explore human-centric aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship. His work contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in sustainability and economic empowerment.
El-Awad has received prestigious awards, including the RENT XXXI Best Paper Award (2017) and the Global Swede honor (2014). He actively contributes to academic discourse through peer reviews for journals like the Journal of Business Venturing and Journal of Small Business Management, and participates in international conferences such as the Academy of Management and RENT Conference. His research projects include studying the impact of entrepreneurship graduates on Lund's ecosystem (2020–2023).
