Craig Mitchell is a Lecturer and PhD student in entrepreneurship at the Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship, Lund University. His research focuses on Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship, Immigrant Entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurship among refugees in Sweden. He co-leads the ENTRIM project, offering evening courses for newly arrived refugees interested in entrepreneurship, running multiple sessions since 2017.
Research interests include the interplay between entrepreneurial contexts and firm growth dynamics in immigrant-owned businesses. Mitchell’s work explores refugee entrepreneurial intentions, the commodification of ethnicity, and policy implications for immigrant entrepreneurs.
He has contributed to projects like 'Characteristics, Conditions and Scope of Entrepreneurship among Newcomers' (2017–2020) and 'Nordic Entrepreneurship Hubs' (2016–2019), funded by Familjen Kamprads Stiftelse and other Nordic institutions. His research outputs include peer-reviewed articles, edited books, and policy reports.
