Zac Smith

Zac Smith is an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of History at the University of Alabama. His research specializes in Military and Naval History with a focus on United States historical contexts. Smith earned his PhD from the University of Georgia in 2012 and a BA from Purdue University.

His scholarly work examines the construction of American identity during conflict periods, particularly through the lens of fear and social dynamics. Smith's book 'Age of Fear' analyzes othering processes during World War I and their impact on national identity formation.
