She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Counselling Children and Young People from the University of Northampton (graduated 2018). Her professional roles include managing a team of 43 counsellors across four counties, clinical supervision, and adjunct lecturing work. She specializes in trauma-informed therapy, safeguarding practices, and systemic family interventions.
Her academic journey included researching post-traumatic growth in children who experienced sexual trauma, leading to legislative changes regarding children’s voices in therapeutic settings. She collaborates with universities (e.g., York University, University of Northampton) on research projects addressing domestic abuse, bullying, and ACEs. She is a Senior Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and contributed to developing clinical frameworks for NHS-funded services.
Yvette advises placement students and advocates for humility and proactive engagement in clinical education. Her work balances clinical practice, leadership, and research, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and ethical practice. She co-authored a children’s book and trauma-focused websites, extending her impact beyond direct clinical work.
Key achievements include securing contracts with East Midlands Children and Young People Sexual Assault Service and expanding Service Six’s geographical reach. Her research bridges academic theory with applied practice, particularly in high-stakes areas like child safeguarding and trauma response.
