Yun Song

Dr. Yun Song serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgical Oncology within the Division of Surgery at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, specializing in complex gastrointestinal malignancies and minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Her academic training includes:

• General Surgery Residency at University of Pennsylvania
• Complex General Surgical Oncology Fellowship at MD Anderson

Dr. Song's clinical expertise focuses on peritoneal surface malignancies—including appendiceal tumors, peritoneal mesothelioma, and metastatic disease—as well as neuroendocrine tumors. She pioneers robotic colon surgery and cytoreductive procedures with/without HIPEC, driving research in clinical outcomes and quality improvement for complex cancer operations. Her work bridges advanced surgical innovation with tangible patient care enhancements in gastrointestinal oncology.
