Yuming Fu

Yuming Fu is an Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore, holding joint appointments in the Department of Architecture (College of Design and Engineering) and the Department of Real Estate (NUS Business School). His research focuses on urban economics, housing policies, and regional development. He previously served as Vice Dean for Research at the School of Design and Environment (2010–2016) and Acting Director of the NUS Institute of Real Estate Studies. He earned his Ph.D. in Urban Land Economics from the University of British Columbia, alongside an MSc in Management Science and BEng from Shanghai Jiaotong University.

His research explores urban spatial development barriers, housing market speculation, and the socioeconomic implications of urban policies. He has advised government agencies in China, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Fu is an editorial board member of Real Estate Economics and Journal of Real Estate Research, and他曾 twice served on the board of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA).

Award highlights include the AREUEA-Homer Hoyt Best Doctoral Dissertation Award (2013) and election as a Hoyt Academic Fellow. His teaching spans urban economics, real estate finance, and spatial analysis at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
