About
Young-Jun Choi is a doctoral researcher at the University of Salzburg, affiliated with the Department of Political Science within the Faculty of Social Sciences. He is part of the GEOTRADE research project. Previously, he completed his BA and MA in Political Science at Yonsei University, focusing on the correlation between economic sanctions and military conflicts, as well as the impact of sanctions on scientific and technological innovation. Before joining academia, he worked as a project manager at a startup developing stealth nanomaterials.
His research interests encompass trade policy, economic sanctions, economic crises, and science and technological innovation at both national and subnational levels. Methodologically, he specializes in statistical methods for causal inference. Choi is based at Rudolfskai 42, Room 110, and can be reached at youngjun.choi@plus.ac.at.
