Dr. Yiqing Yang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology and Sociology at Western Carolina University (WCU), part of the College of Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on health and aging, examining how cultural, political, psychosocial, familial, and community factors influence aging experiences in China and the U.S. She uses mixed-methods approaches, including statistical analysis of large datasets and primary data collection via surveys, interviews, and diaries. She currently collaborates with the Health Equity Data Consortium to assess the impact of the pandemic on North Carolina households, particularly through Medicaid data from Regions 1-6.
