Ying Guo

Ying Guo is Professor of Literacy Education at the University of Cincinnati's Teachers College. Her research addresses reading/writing skill improvement in children, focusing on malleable factors, intervention development, and assessment validation. She specializes in supporting at-risk groups including children in poverty, those with language impairments, and dual-language learners.

Major grants include a $1.4M IES award for exploring kindergarten writing instruction and a $1.3M project for preschool language interventions. Her publications analyze vocabulary acquisition through science instruction, writing skill profiles, and language impairment interventions.
