Dr. Yanrui (Daisy) Ning is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences within Michigan Technological University. She holds a PhD in Petroleum Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, an MS in Environmental Engineering from University of Wyoming, and a BS in Petroleum Engineering from China University of Petroleum.
Research Interests focus on advanced subsurface energy engineering, including:
- Coupled thermal-hydrological-mechanical (THM) simulations for geological carbon sequestration, enhanced geothermal systems (EGS), and unconventional oil & gas development
- Distributed fiber optic sensing (DFOS) technologies for fracture characterization, wellbore monitoring, and subsurface deformation detection
