Yang Liu

Dr Yang Liu is a Lecturer in Strategy and Innovation at Southampton Business School, University of Southampton. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and previously served as Lecturer in Management at Queen’s University Belfast.

Research Interests:

• Digital platforms and ecosystems
• Innovation processes in multinational corporations
• Open innovation and knowledge transfer
• Global strategy and organizational change
• Boundary spanning in diversified firms

Publication Trends: His research spans digital innovation (generative AI, platform ecosystems), organizational dynamics (boundary work, structural recombination), and global R&D processes (cross-border knowledge transfer, purchasing power gaps). Methodologically focuses on qualitative studies in international business contexts.

Teaching: Currently teaches modules on strategy innovation, high-growth business management, and dissertation supervision.

Supervision: Actively supervises PhD students in business studies and management.
