Xu Wenming is a Professor and Associate Dean at the School of Law and Economics of China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL). He serves as an Editor of the International Review of Law and Economics. His academic background includes an undergraduate degree in Economics (magna cum laude) and LLB from CUPL, followed by a Ph.D. in Law and Economics from the University of Bologna, Italy. He has held visiting positions at the University of Oxford, Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, University of Chicago, and Northwestern University.
His teaching focuses on Principle of Law and Finance, Corporate Law and Finance, and Methods for Empirical Legal Studies. Research interests emphasize empirical legal studies, corporate governance frameworks, securities regulation, and interdisciplinary law-and-economics approaches. Over 30 scholarly articles have been published in international and Chinese journals including International Review of Law and Economics, European Business Organization Law Review, and Economics of Governance.
Xu's work bridges legal theory with quantitative analysis, contributing to corporate finance regulation and comparative legal systems. His editorial role reflects scholarly leadership in law-and-economics discourse.
