About
Xiulian Pan serves as Professor and group leader at the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP), Chinese Academy of Sciences, where she leads research in catalytic energy conversion processes.
Her academic training includes:
- Ph.D. from DICP (2001) under Prof. Guoxing Xiong
- Postdoctoral research at Fraunhofer Institute of Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology, Stuttgart
Research focuses on confined catalysis within porous materials (carbon, zeolites, metal oxides) for syngas chemistry and small molecule conversion (CH4, N2, CO2) in energy applications, emphasizing fundamental mechanistic studies.
Award highlights:
- National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars
- Chinese Chemical Society-BASF Youth Innovation Prize
- Young Woman Scientist Award of China (co-sponsored by All-China Women's Federation, CAST, UNESCO China, L'OREAL)
She directs a research group at DICP and contributes to scholarly governance through editorial roles: Editorial Board of Catalysis Science and Technology, Advisory Boards of Sustainable Energy & Fuels and Chemical Science.
