Xinyue Lu is an Assistant Professor of Second Language Acquisition at Howard University. Her research in applied linguistics and educational sociolinguistics examines language ideologies in classrooms, teacher education, and social justice-oriented pedagogies. She employs ethnographic and discourse analytic methods to study culturally diverse learners in world language/ESOL contexts.
Recent work includes studies on translanguaging, linguistic landscapes, and academic discourse socialization. Publications appear in Foreign Language Annals, TESL Canada Journal, and NECTFL Review. She holds a PhD in Multilingual Language Education from The Ohio State University and an MS in TESOL from Fordham University.
