Xinyao Zhou

Xinyao Zhou is an Assistant Professor of Finance at the Faculty of Business and Information Technology, Ontario Tech University. His research focuses on empirical asset pricing, financial econometrics, and international finance, particularly investigating factors like investor attention, social interaction, media news, and macroeconomic news in financial markets. He holds a PhD in Finance from York University’s Schulich School of Business, an MSc in Management (Finance) from Goodman School of Business, and a BBA from Harbin Institute of Technology.

Zhou has secured grants including SSHRC Partner Engagement Grant ($24,156), SSHRC Internal Explore Grant ($6,527), and SSHRC Insights Grant ($125,861 as co-investigator). His work bridges academic research with practical insights, contributing to understanding market anomalies and decision-making processes. Courses taught include Business Applications of Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies and Finance II.
