Xing Zeng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center, where he investigates neuro-adipose interactions in metabolic regulation. His research focuses on adipose-derived factors that regulate sympathetic innervation of thermogenic fat. Dr. Zeng holds a PhD in Cell and Developmental Biology from Harvard University.
His discoveries include identifying the adipocyte-specific gene Clstn3β and neurotrophic factor S100b as regulators of adipose tissue innervation. Dr. Zeng's work has been recognized through the CPRIT First-Time Faculty Award and endowed scholar positions at UT Southwestern.
