University of Texas Southwestern Medical CenterAbout
Dr. Xiaofeng Qi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology at UT Southwestern Medical Center since 2023. Previously, he served as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Molecular Genetics under Dr. Xiaochun Li. His research focuses on signaling pathways involved in cancer biology, particularly immune regulation in the tumor microenvironment (TME), leveraging cryo-EM and computational methods like AlphaFold to study protein complexes.
Dr. Qi has made significant contributions to understanding Hedgehog and Wnt signaling pathways. Key achievements include elucidating the structural basis of HH signal transduction and identifying Calreticulin’s role in Wnt morphogen biogenesis. His lab continues to explore protein complexes purified from natural sources to identify novel TME regulators, aiming to advance cancer therapy development.
He holds prestigious awards including the Michael L. Rosenberg Scholar in Medical Research and 2023 CPRIT Scholar recognition. His work spans structural biology, molecular genetics, and cell signaling, with a focus on translational applications in cancer research.
