Xavier WALLART

Xavier WALLART is a Professor at IEMN (Institut d'Electronique, de Microélectronique et de Nanotechnologie) and a CNRS 1st class research director at the University of Lille. He has held academic and research leadership roles, including Head of the EPIPHY research group since 2006, Head of the IEMN epitaxy facility (2008–2017), and Head of the Materials and Nanostructures department (2012–2014). His teaching focuses on quantum mechanics, solid-state physics, and applied physics related to epitaxial growth and material characterization.

• Education: PhD in Material Science (University of Lille 1, 1988), HDR (2005), and an Electrical Engineering degree from ISEN (1984).

Research interests include molecular beam epitaxial (MBE) growth of III-V antimonide heterostructures, nanostructure selective area growth, transition metal dichalcogenide epitaxy, and thin film/interfacial characterization. He leads the EPIPHY group and collaborates across multiple research clusters (e.g., ANODE, BioMEMS, CARBON) focusing on nanoelectronics, THz devices, and biomimetic sensors. His work integrates advanced material synthesis with device applications in high-frequency/low-power electronics and optoelectronics.
