Xavier Ordinas Ribas

Xavier Ordinas Ribas is an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Spanish, Modern, and Classical Philology at the University of the Balearic Islands since 2019, teaching English across engineering, mathematics, and education degrees including Automation Engineering, Informatics, Mathematics, and Primary Education programs.

His research centers on Applied Linguistics and Socio-linguistics with specialization in English for Specific Purposes (ESP), evidenced by his membership in the Applied Linguistics (REGAL) Consolidated R+D+I Group where he contributes to language education studies and socio-linguistic analysis.

With teaching experience since 2016 in Compulsory Secondary Education and Vocational Training, Ordinas emphasizes digital competences in language instruction. His advisory role includes tutorial work across multiple degree programs, particularly guiding engineering students in technical English applications and education students in language pedagogy through courses like English Language and Teaching II and Practical Placements.
