Xóchitl Chavez

Xóchitl Chavez is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Music at the University of California, Riverside. As the first tenure-track Chicanx faculty member in the department, her work focuses on expressive culture and performance, particularly among Indigenous communities in southern Mexico and transnational Zapotec migrant networks between Oaxaca and Los Angeles.
