Elizabeth Falconi is a Lecturer of Anthropology at the University of West Georgia's School of Social Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (2011). Her research focuses on migration across national borders, linguistic anthropology, and Zapotec transborder communities formed through migration between San Juan Guelavía, Oaxaca, Mexico and Los Angeles, California.
Her research examines:
- Narrative practices in transborder communities
- Language shift and preservation in Zapotec communities
- Indigenous identity in diaspora contexts
- Linguistic discrimination and marginalization
