Woon Tien Wei

Dr Woon Tien Wei serves as Lecturer in Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts, Singapore. An active artist-curator since the early 2000s, he co-founded collectives including Post-Museum, Danger Museum, and tsunamii.net, while holding leadership roles as president of The Artists Village (2001) and co-artistic director of The Substation (2020).

His academic background includes a Doctorate of Creative Arts from Curtin University (2012) focused on Singapore's artistic renaissance, and a BA Fine Arts from Goldsmiths College, University of London. His doctoral research established foundational frameworks for understanding state-artistic relations in Southeast Asia.

Woon's practice centers on collaborative interventions in public space, addressing land contestation, urban legends, and social movements through community-engaged methodologies. His work consistently bridges academic research with grassroots activism, particularly through Post-Museum's initiatives on Bukit Brown Cemetery and urban heritage. Recent projects demonstrate increasing emphasis on decentralized knowledge production and participatory archiving as tools for cultural democracy.
