About
Wilson Bailey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Gonzaga University. His research focuses on metal-ligand cooperation (MLC), where he designs bi-functional organic frameworks to enhance transition metal catalysis in small molecule transformations. Projects are inspired by natural metalloenzymes and emphasize synthesis, spectroscopy, and chemical reactivity, particularly for zirconium and nickel complexes in oxygen catalysis and water oxidation.
Research Interests:
- Metal-Ligand Cooperation (MLC)
- Transition Metal Complexes
- Catalysis
- Environmental Chemistry Applications
- Synthesis and Spectroscopy
The lab’s recent publication explores dual-cure interpenetrating polymer networks for composite assemblies, reflecting interdisciplinary efforts in materials chemistry.
