Professor William Lockley is a Visiting Professor of Chemistry at the University of Surrey’s School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. His career spans academia and industry, including roles in drug metabolism research and leadership in isotopic synthesis. He holds a PhD from Queen Mary College (1972) and has conducted postdoctoral research at New Mexico State University. His research focuses on catalytic systems for labelling organic compounds with deuterium and tritium, emphasizing applications in mass spectrometry and drug discovery.
**Education**: PhD in Chemistry (1972), Queen Mary College, London. Postdoctoral work under Prof. W Lwowski (New Mexico State University). Collaborative research with Professors Trevor Goodwin, Heffyn Rees, and George Britton in biosynthesis pathways.
