Harriet Tenenbaum is Professor of Developmental and Social Psychology at the University of Surrey. Her research examines how children develop understandings of discrimination through social systems and everyday interactions, combining cognitive and socio-cultural frameworks.
Research programs investigate:
- Childhood gender schemas and stereotypes
- Emotion communication patterns
- Educational interventions for bias reduction
Current projects include studies on emotion regulation during COVID-19, civic engagement competencies, and cultural diversity's role in children's rights understanding. She directs the Social Development Lab and leads multiple international collaborations.
