Dr William Fletcher is a Lecturer in Defence Studies at King’s College London’s Defence Studies Department, part of the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy. He teaches at the Joint Services Command and Staff College and Land Command and Staff College. His research focuses on military command systems, staff colleges, and historical warfare analysis.

Research Interests:
William examines the evolution of command systems in military history, particularly the British Army during the Napoleonic and World Wars. His current monograph project explores the 1799 establishment of the first British Staff College and its operational impact until 1815.

Teaching & Leadership:
