Willa Doswell

Willa Doswell is an Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, affiliated with the Health Promotion & Development department. Her work focuses on health promotion, adolescent development, and culturally tailored interventions for African American females.

• NIH-funded intervention research targeting early sexual behavior and teen dating violence
• Development of mother-daughter dyad interventions for healthy habit formation
• Exploration of Parish Nurse models for mental health and spiritual strategies in community settings

Her recent research examines intersections between stress, racism, and cultural identity in African American females. Awards include the 2019 Woman of Excellence by New Pittsburgh Courier.
