Warren Harding

Warren Harding is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Latin American and Caribbean Area Studies at Binghamton University. His research focuses on Black feminist literary and cultural criticism, literary fieldwork, and contemporary Caribbean and Afro-diasporic literary cultures. He holds a PhD in Africana Studies from Brown University (2021), an AM from Brown University, and a BA from Oberlin College.

His first monograph, Migratory Reading: Black Caribbean Women and the Work of Literary Cultures, examines the contributions of Rita Cox, Makeda Silvera, Merle Hodge, Soleida Ríos, and M. NourbeSe Philip through interviews, archival research, and textual analysis. His work appears in journals like Small Axe, SX Salon, and Palimpsest. He is also developing a digital database of Caribbean Feminist and Women's Creative Writing from the 1990s.

Prior to Binghamton, he served as the Diversity in Digital Publishing Postdoctoral Research Associate at Brown University Digital Publications, where he supported public-facing projects centering marginalized histories. His research has been funded by the Mellon Foundation, Social Science Research Council, and institutions like the Pembroke Center.

Harding’s interdisciplinary approach bridges literature, digital humanities, and social justice, with a focus on diasporic experiences and feminist interventions in Caribbean studies.
