Warren Bass is a full Professor of Film and Media Arts at Temple University's School of Theater, Film and Media Arts. He previously chaired the department and has served as a trustee of the Harvard/MIT University Film Study Center, vice president of the University Film and Video Association, and guest editor of The Journal of Film and Video. His teaching focuses on screen directing, cinematography, animation, and advanced film workshops.

Research interests include visual style, documentary filmmaking, and the intersection of art with social justice. His works have been screened in 21 countries and received over 100 awards, including Platinum at Worldfest Houston and Gold Lion at Barcelona.
Recent projects include The Urban World (2014), a documentary on urban displacement in India, and Van Gogh’s Garden (2014), an experimental animation. He authored a widely-acclaimed textbook on video technology.
