Wang Yu is a PhD candidate at the World Art History Institute of Shanghai International Studies University and a Research Fellow at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz (Max Planck Society). She specializes in materials and techniques of Italian Renaissance paintings and drawings, with a focus on historical treatises like Cennino Cennini's Il Libro dell'Arte, which she translated and annotated during her graduate studies.

- Connoisseurship of Raphael's drawings
Currently, Wang Yu works under Professor Marzia Faietti at the Gabinetto dei Disegni e delle Stampe of the Uffizi Galleries in Florence, exploring methodologies for analyzing Raphael's graphic tracings. She is also preparing Chinese translations of key art history texts, including Antonio Paolucci's Arte italiana. Mille anni di storia and Pietro Marani's I segreti della pittura, both slated for publication in 2025.
